Enhancing the Sportsmanship and Creativity of Students at BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug through BINUS CUP VI
As an international school implementing the International Baccalaureate [IB], BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug delivers both academic and non-academic programmes that include sports and arts. This year, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug was back to host a sport competition entitled BINUS CUP VI, with around 28 schools from Jakarta and its vicinity participating. The opening ceremony of BINUS CUP VI took place on Friday, September 6 in the Sports Hall, on the ninth floor of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug; and Peter Matthew Saidi, the school’s Principal, officially opened the ceremony.
BINUS CUP VI did not only present competitions in the field of sports, but also those of arts. The competitions featured such sports as badminton, basketball, futsal, golf and table tennis. As for the arts, there were competitions of modern dance and traditional dance. In the senior high school level of futsal competitions, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug succeeded to go to the final round to compete for championship with a futsal team from Don Bosco School.
The two-week event of BINUS CUP VI achieved warm welcomes from participating schools. The enthusiasm of those participants was seen during the matches. Hosted by BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug, BINUS CUP VI ended on Friday, September 20, 2013. The closing ceremony took place in the Assembly Hall on the eight floor of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug. It is hoped that BINUS CUP VI could inculcate in students from an early age the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie. (BM)
