The 6th ASEAN event series “Bridges – Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace” to take place in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam starting from January 2017 until March 2017 involving the participations of Nobel Laureates for Peace, Physics, Chemistry, Medicine and Economics. The aim of “Bridges” is to facilitate and strengthen dialogue and communication to promote understanding and trust.
Prof.Sheldon Lee Glashow was awarded the 1979 Nobel Prize for Physics for his effort in formulating the electroweak theory which explains the unity of electromagnetism and the weak force. His research has been instrumental in our understanding of how our universe came into being. In the years since winning the Nobel Prize he has helped to further develop the Grand Unified Theory of all particles and all forces. BINUS SCHOOL Simprug as the only one school representatives from Indonesia, have the honor of finally meeting the famous psychic and how excited our students to meet him as well as asked some questions related to his journey & inventions. His dialogue shows that he played a key role in unifying the electroweak and electromagnetic forces and in creating today’s successful standard model of particle physics.
The event aim at building bridges through Nobel Laureates with local universities and other institutions in Southeast Asia to establish long term relationships resulting in common research programs and other forms of collaboration. By enhancing science, technology and educations as a basis for peace and development the event may lead to a better for the advancement of peace, freedom and security in the region with the active involvement of the young generation.
