This year, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL was honored to host Indonesia Youth Leader Forum (IYLF) 2012. The event took place on September 10-14, 2012 on two venues: BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Serpong and BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug.<\/p>\n
Using the theme \u201cLife in 2021: Sharing Our Planet\u201d <\/strong>and the sub-theme \u201cAgents of HOPE\u201d<\/strong>, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL<\/strong> worked alongside HOPE Worldwide<\/em><\/strong> as the key speaker to discuss five global and local issues, namely education, economy, health, infrastructure and environment.<\/p>\n IYLF 2012 was attended by representatives of schools from a number of different countries, such as Suzhou Foreign School (China), Hwa Chong Institution (Singapore), Bugil Academy (Korea), BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Serpong and Simprug (Indonesia) and Brisbane Grammar School (Australia).<\/p>\n In IYLF 2012, China sent 8 students, Singapore sent 8 students, Korea sent 7 students, Indonesia sent 8 students and Australia sent 5 students. Each country also sent an additional teacher to accompany students. As delegations, these students must fulfill several requirements, such as: aged 16-18 years old, fluent in English, has leadership skills and active in organizations, has excellent academic records, and highly enthusiastic to communicate and work with other delegations.<\/p>\n The event was officially opened on September 10, 2012 at BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug by Peter Matthew Saidi (Principal of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug) as the Head Committee accompanied by Sherrie Garcia (Principal of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Serpong).<\/p>\n During the event, delegations discussed these topics in seminars, discussions, field trips and culture festivals. \u201cWith this forum, hopefully the delegations are able to expand their network, develop their leadership skills, and improve their social-cultural awareness so they can be agents of hope on their own countries,\u201d explained Peter.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This year, BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL was honored to host Indonesia Youth Leader Forum (IYLF) 2012.
