BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug held the Mini Olympic 2013
482 pre-school and elementary school students of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug participated in Mini Olympic 2013 which was held at Soemantri Brodjonegoro Stadium, Pasar Festival,
Jl HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta. The event was held on Friday (26/4) from 8am to 2pm.
The Mini Olympic 2013 was themed “Be Active, Work Together, Have Fun”. The purpose is to urge students to be physically active, happy, and get the chance to interact positively with other students. The event was opened by an Athlete Parade with four teams in it: Maroon Team, Blue Team, Green Team and Purple Team – along with the teachers and staff. Afterwards, everybody sang Indonesia Raya and BINUSIAN Mars Song. Peter Matthew Saidi (Principal of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug) opened the ceremony. Afterwards, a representative of the students read the sportiveness pact.
Some of the sports in Mini Olympic 2013 are sprinting, relay race, long jump and throwing. In addition, there were also mini futsal, basketball, hand-ball and other balance-based games to make the whole game merrier. Students were very enthusiastic because they had the chance to do sport activities and apply the theories they learned in the classroom. They were also able to compete and work together as a team to win the competitions. The first, second and third winners received a trophy, one for each categories. The overall winner also received a trophy.
“Hopefully the Mini Olympic 2013 will be a routine event in BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug, so the students of BINUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Simprug will be able to improve their ability in sport and teamwork,” explained Ronald V. San Juan (Physical Education Teacher for EY-EL). (BM)
