COSTUME PLAYING AT LITERATURE FESTIVAL 2014
BINUS International School Simprug never stops to amaze us by organizing the recent Literature Festival 2014 (Lit Fest). This year, the committee that consists of grade 11 students used short stories as its themes and Edgar Allan Poe as its decoration. Edgar Allan Poe was a 18th century author known by its popular books such as The Raven, The Black Cat, etc.
The event also had many kinds of competitions, games, and performances of Junior-Senior High School of BINUS International School Simprug. Some of these activities were cosplay competition, short film production, poetry and short story writing competition. There was also Fun House and mini café that sold snacks and drinks during the festival.
Maura, one of the 11th grade students joined the poetry writing competition, shared why decided to compete in the event, “I joined this competition because I want to share about my work to the others.” Maura also participated in the cosplay by wearing the Princess Mononoke costume, a famous anime character.
This event has many benefits for the students; it allows the students to express themselves, to form a sense of camaraderie, to improve their reading, and to learn more about literature in a fun way. (AL)
