BINUS SCHOOL SIMPRUG TAKES US BACK TO FAIRY TALES THROUGH THE FAIREST
To provide performing arts and fine arts is one of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug’s missions in inspiring its students’ learning process. Reflecting artistic talents and literature, the students presented a musical drama FAIREST – Return to the Fairytale, held on Friday (4/17) at Usmar Ismail Hall, Kuningan.
Fairest is a musical drama performed by the students of Spotlight Club. The Spotlight Theatre Club is the school’s extracurricular activity that focuses in acting, dance, stage management, and publication. It consists of students of grade 6-11 that are interested in performing arts.
This musical drama that is written by a grade 12 Diploma Program (DP) students, Farah Labita and Reza Stevano, is inspired by two popular fairy tales: Cinderella and Snow White. The idea of combining these two popular stories made the play more interesting to the audience. “We want to present a play that can be enjoyed by people all age in BINUS SCHOOL Simprug,” said Farah and Reza.
The play was a success. It also featured some Broadway songs such as: Wicked, Love Never Dies, Cinderella, The Lion King, etc. Fairest was performed two times by the students. It was so brilliantly performed as if it hypnotized audience to enter fairy tale, with few surprises of Spotlight Club. “We hope that FAIREST can inspire and impress the audience, as well as leaving a memorable experience for the cast and crew,” said Vienna as Spotlight Club Executive Management.
See you in the next Spotlight Club production! (LN)
