BINUS SCHOOL Simprug WINNING COMPETITIONS AT WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP 2015 at YALE UNIVERSITY

Jakarta, November 2015 – The World Scholar’s Cup (occasionally abbreviated as WSC) is an international team academic program with students participating from over 40 countries. The World Scholar’s Cup focuses far more on bringing students from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today and the future. BINUS SCHOOL Simprug involved 14 students into WSC 2015 at YALE University.

Students successfully complete all competition areas and received winning medals for each subject – Individual & Team Debates, Writing, Scholar’s Bowl & Challenge.
Debate is a chance to apply all that student have learned to make the most persuasive case they can. For new debaters, it’s a great introduction; for experienced debaters, it’s a challenging new style. In writing, student had six statements and asked to choose one to argue for or against. Students need to be very compact with the team to compose the most persuasive essay possible. The most fast, challenging tests were Scholar’s Bowl, where every team in the theater with a clicker. Every question harder than the one before as well as team will work together to solve analytic questions and multimedia challenges. At Scholar’s Challenge, this is the test when students applied their knowledge of the six subjects and BINUS SCHOOL Simprug students has successfully received medals for the challenge as well.

One of students from Grade 8 who won 3 medals in this WSC Competition – Ziankha Amorette Fatimah Syarief commented “ I enjoyed the experienced and I am totally interested to participate in the next year WSC Competition. Moreover, I think this is a very good activity for students because we can also train ourselves to be a good speakers”. Ziankha won for Top School Scorer, Individual Debates and Writing.

Congratulations again to BINUS SCHOOL Simprug students on reaching advanced levels of World Scholar’s Cup 2015. Each student who participated on this competition will becomes a good example for other students to build confident personality to try explore new things and be the best learner.
