Teacher’s Spotlight: Mr.Loyd M.Wallace – IYLS 2023: Empowering Young Leaders to Build a Better Future*

Mr. Loyd, the esteemed Subject Head of MYP Sciences at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, together with Ms. Elisabeth have taken charge of organizing the highly anticipated 4th International Young Leaders Summit (IYLS), set to take place from November 8 to 10, 2023. Young leaders in six participating schools from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan will meet face-to-face at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug in Jakarta, Indonesia to tackle the theme “Strength in Unity, Creativity in Diversity”.  The IYLS is an annual event jointly proposed by Mr. Ang Wee Hiong, Senior Consultant and former Senior Inspector of Schools, Ministry of Education, Singapore, Mr. Bernard Gunawan, President and CEO of BINUS University and BINUS Education Group as well as Mr. Cao Lunhua, Founder and Head Principal of Lunhua Education Group.

This year’s IYLS 2023 aims to create a dynamic platform for young leaders to engage in meaningful discussions and address critical issues that directly impact their generation. The event will inspire and empower these young leaders to become change-makers and advocates for social justice, environmental sustainability, and cross-cultural understanding. Participants will look forward to a series of interactive sessions, experiential learning opportunities, and valuable networking experiences. The carefully designed activities will enable young leaders to raise awareness about pressing social and environmental challenges, develop a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, and refine their leadership skills.
