Meet Our Teacher: Sonia Bakshi Sud
Hello Binusians!!! I am Ms Sonia Bakshi Sud and I will be your Environmental Sciences(ESS) teacher for Grade 10 and Sciences Teacher for Grade 8. I bring with me an enriched experience of more than 15 years in Environmental research projects. Along with degrees in Forestry Management, Agricultural Sciences and a certification in Climate and Renewable Energy from Frankfurt University, Germany, I have a Post Graduate Degree in Education and Teaching from University of Sunderland (UK).
Binus is not new to me!!! Since 2018, I have had the privilege to work with Binusians in different academic capacities- teaching MYP Sciences to Grade 6, 7 Environmental Sciences to Grade 11 and recently Individual and Societies to Grade 7 and 9. I sincerely believe, teaching is a fascinating platform to foster inquiry skills in students and promoting hands-on learning experiences to our young generation to equip them to deal with the changing development scenario. My experience of nearly 15 years in working on various Environmental projects spanning across countries in South and South East Asia including Indonesia makes me well aware of the current global environmental challenges and the changemakers our young and bright minds need to be!!
Doing an IB MYP -Sciences training Diploma from IB Global Centre, Singapore, has helped me to align my approach with MYP’s emphasis on holistic education and nurturing curious, knowledgeable, and reflective learners.
I eagerly look forward to my current role and I am confident that my passion for environmental education will help us nurturing environmentally conscious and proactive Binusians in their life journeys ahead!! Bye and see you soon…
