Teacher’s Spotlight: Dr. Maria Fe Nicolau

I am Dr. Maria Fe Nicolau, serving as both the head of the library and the Extended Essay Coordinator at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug since 2006. I hold a Ph.D. in Applied English Linguistics from Atma Jaya University, where I received the highest distinction. In addition to my doctoral accomplishments, I hold a master’s degree in education management, which I earned from Trinity College, now known as Trinity University of Asia in the Philippines. This degree has equipped me with invaluable insights into effective educational leadership and management strategies.

I am a two-time recipient of the Best Employee Award from BINUS SCHOOL Simprug in 2012 and 2017. Other achievements include as a keynote speaker during the 36th Annual Conference of the Nigerian School Library Association in 2021, a regular blind article publication reviewer for the “English Language and Education” based in Banda, Aceh, and currently the only Asian librarian to be invited as an extended contributor of the ERASMUS (European Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students). This exceptional opportunity not only recognizes my expertise but also underscores the significance of cross-cultural collaboration and knowledge exchange in the global educational landscape.

Without a doubt, the achievements I have received stand as a testament to the unwavering support and encouragement I have received from the exceptional leaders and nurturing community at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug. Their belief in my abilities has allowed me to soar to great heights and unleash my passion for international collaboration and the exchange of ideas on school practices. Their support has not only elevated my role as an educator and librarian but has also reinforced my dedication to providing the best possible education for our students, empowering them to thrive academically and personally.
