Embracing Youths in the Digital Era, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug Holds E-Sport Competition

Gaming is no longer a “forbidden” pastime at school, which BINUS SCHOOL Simprug shows through its support for gaming and e-sports as student activities. Through its first e-sports event this year, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug lets students express themselves in the digital era. A perfect environment for youths who dream of exploring the world of online gaming and its related fields. 

BINUS SCHOOL’s First E-Sports Event with Popular Games

BINUS SCHOOL Simprug proudly presented its first BINUS E-SPORT in 2024, inviting participants from middle and high school grades. It was a continuation of BINUS SCHOOL’s support of Binusian Gaming, its student activity unit that focuses on e-sports and other similar events.

During the event, students competed in teams, going against each other in three games. Each title highlighted different unique strategies and skills of the team members. They were:

FIFA

A globally renowned football game, FIFA allows players to select team members and place them in positions based on their skills. Players will have to lead the team to victory by controlling the athletes. A game that encourages strategic thinking, team management, and problem-solving.

Assetto Corsa

Assetto Corsa is a racing game that allows players to modify various parts of their cars for victory. The game encourages strategic skills and introduces players to car knowledge.

Mobile Legends

Popular RPG Mobile Legends encourage teams to select players suitable for each mission and use specific strategies to beat their opponents. A favourite game that requires teamwork, strategy, and analytical thinking.

The first e-sports event by BINUS SCHOOL Simprug earned positive responses, allowing students to compete using various soft skills. They also enjoyed bonding time with their friends and even forged new connections.

E-sports are mass events that include students to interact with their peers and others in the venue. Students can learn to socialise, bond with friends and other students, and find camaraderie. A perfect practice to develop social skills necessary for the future.

• Fostering Interests in Professional Fields

E-sports and other similar events are solid stepping stones if students are interested in professional gaming. They can also develop interests in related fields, such as game development, 3D illustration, storyboard creation, software development, and many more.

• Inspiring Students with Creativity

Interest in games can lead to the development of creativity. They can, for example, create ideas for fun, immersive games. This is one of the possible inspirations for indie game development or other creative projects. The e-sports event is a great motivation to develop such ideas.

BINUS SCHOOL Simprug is proud to host BINUS E-SPORT 2024, with excited participants boasting their strategic skills, teamwork, and creativity. The school hopes to be able to further accommodate the students’ gaming interests.
