From Artwork to Real Action: Caleb, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug Student, Inspires Young Generation to Care for Indonesia’s Environment and Endangered Wildlife
Sensitivity to environmental issues has become an essential foundation for the younger generation amid growing threats to the preservation of nature and Indonesia’s endangered wildlife. This awareness must not only be understood but also voiced in order to encourage real change. Through his illustrative works, Caleb, a student at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, stands as an example of a young individual who boldly invites the public to care more deeply about the environment, particularly the protection of Indonesia’s endangered species.
As a tangible manifestation of this spirit, Caleb collaborated with BINA NUSANTARA to translate his illustrations into exclusive merchandise products now available at the BEEHIVE BINUS Store. This environmental-themed art exhibition marks the inaugural project of the Creativerse program, which has been designed as a sustainable initiative to actively support talented young BINUS students in showcasing their work, nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit, and contributing positive impacts to both the environment and the wider community.
This project originated from Caleb’s experience when he was in Grade 5, during which he developed his first creative idea into a work with real-world impact. In a previous project, Caleb created artworks centered on environmental awareness and marine ecosystems. These works were successfully transformed into various products, with sales proceeds donated to the NGO Divers Clean Action to support mangrove planting in the PIK area.

As his journey progressed, Caleb’s works became increasingly inspired by animal and environmental themes, particularly Indonesia’s protected endemic species. A series of artworks under the “animal series” theme was then developed into exclusive merchandise for BINUS SCHOOL Simprug. One of his artworks was also created through a collaborative drawing and coloring activity with children supported by the Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation.
In this current project, proceeds from merchandise sales will be donated to the Wahana Visi Indonesia Foundation to support efforts to improve the quality of life of children and communities in need.
This initiative was marked by the launch of collaborative products by Caleb and BINA NUSANTARA on Wednesday (21/01/2026). The occasion highlighted Caleb’s creative journey, his learning process, and the importance of providing students with opportunities to contribute through their talents and interests from an early age.
Caleb expressed his pride that his illustrations have grown into products that benefit many people. “I’m really happy that my drawings can become products and be useful to others. Through these pictures, I want to invite my friends to care more about animals and the environment, because small actions can have a big impact when we do them together,” said Caleb.
Meanwhile, Mr. Isaac explained that this initiative aligns with the Journeys Programme at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug—an educational approach that supports students’ holistic growth and development by encouraging them to explore their potential, remain sensitive to surrounding issues, and translate learning processes into impactful real-world actions.
“We want students not only to engage in learning processes in the classroom, but also to experience meaningful learning journeys through the BINUS SCHOOL Simprug Journeys Programme. Student works are not merely learning outcomes, but also carry real value and benefits for the surrounding environment. Through this collaboration, we provide space for students to express their creativity while also learning about empathy, critical thinking, and environmental awareness from an early age,” said Isaac Koh, Principal of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug.
Through this collaboration, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug reaffirms its commitment to creating a learning environment that supports creativity, social awareness, and the development of student character that has a positive impact on society and the environment.
