Little Steps, Big Awareness: Grade 1 Exploring Our Planet
At BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, every learning journey begins with curiosity. For our Grade 1 students, that journey started with a simple question: “What happens to our waste?”
With our teachers’ guidance, students began exploring real-life environmental issues. They learned how waste affects the Earth today, helping them understand that what they learn in class is closely connected to the world around them. This early step made the journey feel real, not just something they study, but something they can relate to.
As their curiosity grew, the journey continued through hands-on experiences. Our teachers provided meaningful materials and activities that allowed students to explore biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials directly. They observed, experimented, and discovered how different types of waste behave over time, turning learning into something they could see and experience for themselves.

Step by step, with the guidance of our teachers and the learning environment we provide, students began to connect their discoveries to real-life habits. What started as a simple exploration slowly grew into awareness. And along the way, something even more meaningful appeared: empathy. The students didn’t just understand the concept, they cared about it. They shared ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and showed a genuine desire to protect the Earth.
Through journeys like this, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug supports students in learning with purpose, guiding them from curiosity to understanding, and from understanding to caring for the world they are growing into.
