Finding His Edge on the Ice: Tristan’s Hockey Journey
Everything started with a simple moment for Tristan, a Grade 8 student at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug. What felt like just another activity quickly turned into something more. The moment he stepped on the ice, he became curious, and that curiosity slowly grew into a passion he wanted to take seriously.

As Tristan continued exploring hockey, he began to understand that improving in the sport takes more than just interest; it takes discipline. At one point, he realized he needed to rebuild his foundation and start again from the basics. Instead of feeling discouraged, Tristan chose to reset, relearn, and grow step by step.
He trains with the Golden Cobra Hockey Club, spending around 10–12 hours each week on the ice. Every session challenges him not just physically but also mentally, helping him become more focused, disciplined, and resilient over time.
One of the key moments in his journey was competing in the Johor Ice Hockey Tournament. Being in a competitive environment pushed him to stay calm under pressure and trust the process he had been working on. It became a moment when all his training started to come together.
Balancing hockey and school life is not always easy, but Tristan continues to manage both with strong commitment. With the support and guidance he receives at school, he is learning how to stay organized, responsible, and focused—both in the classroom and on the ice.

At BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, students are encouraged to discover their passions and are supported every step of the way as they grow. Through a learning environment that nurtures curiosity and perseverance, Tristan has been able to explore his interests while developing the discipline needed to pursue them seriously.
Tristan’s journey reflects how the right support system can help a simple curiosity grow into something meaningful. With the encouragement of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug community, he continues to build the confidence and skills needed to pursue his ambitions.
Looking ahead, Tristan dreams of becoming an international ice hockey player while also working toward his goal of becoming a pediatrician. Showing how, with the right guidance and opportunities, students can be empowered to pursue more than one dream.
