Magical Celebration of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug’s 21 Years SPIRIT in PYP Concert

PYP concert 2025 at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug was far from the ordinary student showcase. Each of the invitees could feel the brimming energy resulting from students, teachers, and staff’s dedicated, hopeful, and strategic work in the vibrant decoration, carefully crafted properties, and swelling sound of anticipation that welcomed them upon entering the venue.

This year’s PYP concert was also extraordinary as it coincided with BINUS SCHOOL Simprug’s 21st anniversary, a celebration that unfolded through the harmonious dancing, melodious singing, and thoughtful skits.

The magical teamwork and dedication of our talented teachers and students served as the catalyst that transformed the concert night into a refreshing and momentous imprint.

A Celebration of SPIRIT and 21 Years of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug

While the concert performance was the highlight of the night, the entire process gracefully underscored the SPIRIT values that BINUS SCHOOL Simprug has upheld over the years.

“This is a celebration of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug’s 21st anniversary, and we’re going to share about our SPIRIT values.” highlighted Tanti Nur Fajri, our PYP teacher of visual arts.

As ‘S’ stands for “Striving for Excellence”, we encourage our BINUSIAN to seek continuous improvement and aim for excellence in all endeavours, clearly evident in their dedication to the concert performance. Throughout the challenges of preparation and their stage presence, students developed and strengthened their “Perseverance,” the second value we promote through SPIRIT.

Ariane Isti, our visual art teacher for PYP, also emphasised, “We are going to have a lot of performances such as dancing, we also have skits, singing, and many more that will be a surprise for all of the audience.”

Within the diverse performance spectrum, our talented BINUSIAN displayed an “Innovative” approach, representing the (‘I’), allowing them to develop creative ideas and solutions. By executing the performance collectively, our PYP students were deeply engaged with the principles of “Respect” (‘R’),  upholding courtesy, embracing diversity, and demonstrating consideration for others.

The process also instilled an ethical mindset reflecting the ‘I’ for “Integrity,” emphasising honesty and transparency in all their interactions. Above all, it was “Teamwork” (‘T’) that solidified their unity throughout the journey’s ups and downs.

Our celebration of BINUS SCHOOL Simprug’s 21st anniversary served as both a creative and artistic platform for our students and a true embodiment of our school’s core principles, the SPIRIT values.

Talent Takes Centre Stage: Magical Teamwork in Action

During the concert, invitees witnessed how the SPIRIT values unfolded through the magical teamwork of our PYP students, teachers, and staff. The venue that was once empty was then filled with harmonious melody brought by heartfelt individual instrumental performance.

The PYP students’ relatable character and insightful dialogue, enhanced by perfectly timed lighting cues, created an immersive experience, ensuring smooth transitions between each act.

The talents did not shy away, but shone brightly as they interpreted the songs practised with dedication, inviting the audience to hum together. On stage, the younger BINUSIAN’s genuine facial expressions and energetic dance movements, complemented by coordinated costumes, brought delight and smiles to their parents in the audience.

One of the students from Grade 5, Almaira, shared her enthusiasm,” I am wearing the traditional clothes from Sumatra right now. Me and the grade 5 will be performing many different dances from Indonesia. And my group will perform ‘Sinanggar Tulo’ (from North Sumatra).”

These diverse performances showcased the students’ dedication and collaborative spirit as they channelled their energy and thoughts into delivering engaging and cohesive acts. Learning, practising, and performing together fostered not only artistic skill but also cultural awareness and a strong sense of teamwork.

Expressing her earnest hope, Almairad said, “I hope this event makes people more confident of themselves and not shy of themselves. I now would like to say thank you to all the teachers  and students who helped prepare for this event, and I am grateful that I can be a part of this event.”

Our School’s Commitment to Nurturing Future Stars

The realisation of PYP Concert 2025 marked BINUS SCHOOL Simprug for 21 years of fruitful expedition and a significant milestone in empowering our students’ growth. Our school is immensely proud to witness their all-around growth and hopes that this event opens up endless resourceful opportunities for our students to flourish in their area of interest.

Our EY and EL Affective Coordinator, Ms. Jocelyn Mondejar, stated, “I do hope and of course our dream first for our students is like they continue to explore their talents and this will not be the last time to show it to the world.”

BINUS SCHOOL Simprug will continue to expand and support students’ exploration of skills and interests through a similar program to PYP Concert and other vibrant academic activities. We look forward to more successful activities fostering exponential growth for every child at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug.
