From Passion to Creation: Sparkfest by the Journeys Programme
The Journeys Programme at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug is designed to help students develop creativity driven by passion into real-world skills. Through this programme, we support our students in exploring their interests and turning them into something they can build, experience, and take ownership of.
The journey begins with curiosity. Students start by identifying what interests them, then slowly explore those ideas through discussions, experimentation, and continuous refinement. With guidance from our teachers, they learn how to shape their thoughts into something more structured, testing what works, improving what doesn’t, and learning through the process. Over time, those ideas begin to take form.
During Sparkfest, students stepped forward not just to present, but to run their own booths, bringing their ideas into real interaction. Each booth reflected their interests and how they see themselves growing in the future. From Art Society,exploring creativity, to Business Society, managing ideas into value, to Innovators Society, building solutions, and to Law, Medical, and Psychology Society, connecting their interests to real-world fields, each space represents how students are beginning to understand their own paths.
More than showcasing, students engaged directly with others. They explained their ideas, responded to questions, and experienced what it means to share their work beyond the classroom. The presence of external booths added another layer to the experience, allowing students to see how their ideas connect to a wider community and how their interests can exist beyond school.
A key moment in this journey was the session with Jehian Sijabat, who shared his real-world experiences with our students. His perspective gave students a clearer picture of what it means to grow, take risks, and continue building something over time, helping them see that the journey they are starting now can lead to something much bigger.
Through Sparkfest, we see our students not only creating, but also understanding who they are becoming. As they continue this journey, we remain committed to supporting them by providing the space, guidance, and opportunities they need to explore, grow, and shape their future.
