Driven by Perseverance Naomi’s Journey at BINUS SCHOOL Simprug
At just 12 years old, Naomi has already stepped beyond national competitions to represent Indonesia on the international stage. Through years of dedication in show jumping, she has earned multiple podium finishes, progressed to the 110 cm category, and won a Silver Medal in her first CSI International competition in Europe.
Naomi’s achievements became the beginning of an exciting new journey. Recognising her dedication both on and off the field, BINUS SCHOOL Simprug awarded her a sports scholarship. As a Grade 7 student, Naomi now enters an environment where her passion, resilience, and curiosity will continue to grow through meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
More Than Achievements: The Perseverance Behind Naomi’s Success
Behind every achievement Naomi has earned is a journey shaped by perseverance, discipline, and the willingness to embrace challenges.
Her journey in equestrian began when she was 7.5 years old, when horse riding started as a fun weekend activity. Over time, what began as a hobby transformed into a passion that required commitment, patience, and continuous dedication.
As Naomi progressed as a show jumper, she learned that success was not only about mastering techniques or achieving higher jumps. It was about building trust, understanding different horses, and developing the ability to adapt in every situation.
Working with different horses taught Naomi an important lesson: every horse has its own personality and requires a different approach. Through this experience, she developed empathy, responsibility, and adaptability — qualities that have become essential parts of her growth as an athlete.
One of Naomi’s biggest challenges came during her first CSI International competition in Belgium. Competing on an international stage meant facing unfamiliar surroundings and riding a horse she had only limited time to understand before the competition.
Rather than seeing the situation as an obstacle, Naomi approached it as an opportunity to learn. She listened carefully to her coaches, studied the horse’s rhythm, and used every training moment to build confidence and connection.
Her perseverance paid off when she achieved a Silver Medal in her first CSI International competition.
For Naomi, this experience became more than just a milestone. It showed her that growth happens when she is willing to step beyond her comfort zone. Through every challenge she faces, Naomi continues to strengthen the mindset that has guided her journey — to stay determined, keep learning, and always strive for improvement. It is this mindset that makes BINUS SCHOOL Simprug a natural place for Naomi’s next chapter, where perseverance is matched with opportunities to grow academically, personally, and beyond the classroom.
A Scholarship That Recognises Character

Receiving a sports scholarship was a proud milestone for Naomi and her family. More than recognising her achievements in equestrian, it acknowledged the discipline, consistency, determination, and commitment she has demonstrated while balancing academics with the demands of competitive sport.
At BINUS SCHOOL Simprug, scholarships are awarded not only to celebrate achievement, but also to recognise students whose character, resilience, and passion reflect the values the school strives to nurture.
For Naomi, the scholarship also marks the beginning of a new learning journey—one where she hopes to continue growing both academically and personally while pursuing her passion as a young athlete.
